Helping people in Recovery Take Back Their Lives
Harmony House Recovery Society is modeled after the highly successful Oxford House Foundation of Canada. We meet the unique needs of men and women in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction through safe, affordable housing and support.

To provide people in recovery from addictions, a supportive program and safe home to achieve a productive, rewarding, clean sober life.
Individuals in recovery are empowered to take responsibility for themselves and thrive in every aspect of their lives.

When men and women in recovery come to Oxford House, they have already taken some important steps on their road to recovery. They’re ready to work hard to maintain their recovery and take the necessary steps toward independent, financially sustainable and more fulfilling lives. And when they move into an Oxford Home, they know we’ll welcome and support them with information and resources within the recovery, and greater community.
Oxford House offers transitional, pre-treatment, and Indigenous housing that meet people where they are in recovery—providing stability, community, and hope for a brighter future.

We’ve been there and understand that acceptance, hope, honesty, personal accountability, goal setting, and gratitude are crucial to long-term recovery. When asked why the program works, residents respond:

Share's His Story
Addiction touches one in five adults in Alberta, and BC, leaving no family or community untouched. Beyond the billions it costs in healthcare, law enforcement, and lost productivity, the human toll is even greater—broken families, lost potential, homelessness, and lives cut short.
At Oxford House Foundation of Canada, we know recovery is possible. For nearly 30 years, we’ve provided safe, sober homes where men, women, and Indigenous individuals can rebuild their lives with dignity and hope. Our peer-run, transitional housing model empowers residents to stay sober, develop life skills, and reintegrate into their communities with strength and confidence.
Your support makes this transformation possible. Every donation helps us create safe, supportive environments that prevent relapse, reduce homelessness, and give people in recovery the second chance they deserve.
More than a recovery home, Oxford House is a family where lasting sobriety begins.
Your Impact: Your donations are crucial in supporting Oxford House residents. Residents pay a modest monthly rent that covers part of their housing costs. Your gifts cover the rest, about $135 per month per resident.
Evidence-Based Approach: Oxford House uses a proven model that offers people with addictions support from peers in a safe, sober living space. This approach helps them learn coping skills, build positive networks, and feel more confident, empowering them to live without addiction.
Empowerment and Responsibility: At Oxford House, residents actively take part in a peer-run environment. This promotes empowerment, boosts self-esteem, and builds leadership skills. This support system helps residents stay sober and confident in the long term.
Preventing Homelessness: By providing a stable home, Oxford House keeps people from returning to dangerous situations or becoming homeless. This fills a big gap in addiction services.
Safe, Affordable Housing: Unlike pricey professional treatments, Oxford House offers affordable, community-based housing tailored to different needs. It includes separate spaces for men, women, and Indigenous people. This model helps people recover for the long term and prevents relapses.
No Time Limits: Oxford House is unique because it doesn't set time limits for its services. This fits with how chronic diseases are treated, giving residents the support, time, and structure they need for lasting change and better chances of staying sober. As long as residents continue to abide by house rules, they can stay until they feel confident in their ability to maintain their recovery.
Proven Success: Research shows Oxford House residents have lower relapse rates, higher confidence, and better financial stability than those in standard aftercare programs. This proves how effective Oxford House is at supporting long-term recovery.
Preventing Homelessness: By offering a stable living environment, Oxford House prevents individuals from returning to abusive situations and homelessness, filling a critical gap in addiction services.
Safe and Affordable Housing: Unlike expensive professional treatment options, Oxford House provides affordable, community-based housing tailored to diverse needs, including separate accommodations for men, women, and Indigenous individuals. This model supports long-term recovery and breaks the cycle of relapse.
